Sycamore Square Group were appointed to refurbish an exiting suite of classrooms and uplift the dull and tired corridor and access routes, to create a new vibrant suite of electronic lab teaching spaces. We removed the existing tired ceilings and designed an exposed soffit that not only saved money but enhanced the space through greater openness and improved contemporary aesthetics. We enhanced the openness and connectivity of the adjacent walkways through installation of glazed partitions. Through utilsing a drop shadow to the ceiling paint work and installing vinyl graphics to create visual impact and brand identity the suite was transformed to contemporary practical teaching space. Existing furniture was adapted and reused and new LED lighting and acoustic treatments were installed with ant static flooring. Through detailed surveys at inception we identified all risks and condition issues with both building fabric and mechanical and electrical at the outset. This enabled us to correctly plan and manage the scope of work and associated costings to deliver the project on time and on budget.
