Sycamore Square Group were appointed to provide Building Surveying services to provide drafting services for their fire compartmentation plans across their 5no schools. We attended each site (outside normal teaching hours) to walk the buildings and understand the existing principles surrounding means of escape, protected routes and assembly points etc. Understand the existing arrangements alongside information from the Polaris Estates Manager and individual site managers. We reviewed locations of key passive fire protection such as fire doors, areas of fire stopping, stair wells, final exit doors etc to understand the existing escape strategy. Using our in House CAD team we drafted the locations of the fire compartments, fire doors and protected routes that currently exist on an Autocad plan following consultation with Polars Estates Manager to assist the Estates Manager with the fire safety management of the estate. The works were critical to the client to meet their legal and compliance duties. We mobilised rapidly to undertake the inspections and drawing on a fast track basis providing the client with CAD and PDF files suitable for their ongoing maintenance and records purposes.
